Oh, Vietnam you are truly the jewel of Southeast Asia. You are a perfect blend of bustling cities and serene countryside and I had an incredible time exploring both! Your simplicity and humbleness took my heart. Sometimes all you need is a casual chat with your friend to plan one of the most memorable trips of your life. And exactly that’s how my Vietnam trip happened. While chatting with my friend we happened to discuss travel and both of us instantly said we should travel together! I had planned a solo trip to Vietnam and I said would you like to join? In the next moment she said, “Yes let’s go!” ..and I love her for that!!
We spent our days in Vietnam cruising through the majestic limestone towers rising from the emerald Halong Bay, cycling and boating through the lovely countryside of Ninh Bin, unwinding at the tropical beaches and marvelling at the street dining culture in the bustling cities of Ho chi minh and Hanoi. Dreamy towns like Hoi An and French Town in Da Nang have my heart. We also rode the longest non-stop cable car to reach the Golden Bridge. We learnt about the country’s tumultuous history while being immersed in its vibrant present-day culture.
Vietnam’s rich culture of coffee left a lasting impression on us. We discovered a new way of making coffee and now there’s no going back! 😉 The street food culture in Vietnam is amusing! We enjoyed Pho, spring rolls, bánh mì, bánh tráng nướng (Vietnamese pizza) and had one of the best Japanese Sushi at a local Japanese restaurant. Spending time in cute cafes, trying different coffees, and stumbling upon a beautiful traditional Chinese tea house was a delight.
The rich history and culture, captivating sights, bustling sounds, and unique flavours of this amazing country will stay with me forever. Make Vietnam your next adventure and discover the magic for yourself!
With its tropical climate, affordable costs and warm hospitality, Vietnam will delight you. Vietnam is a pretty big country and every region offers such unique landscapes, nature and culture. Stay tuned for my next blog to see what all I explored on my trip.
